EDIT 2 - Sorry about that, I ended up finding the answer on these forums afterall.

The issue was I used cold water, to solve that I shook the mixture up again and ran it under hot water for a few minutes. This time, the bottom layer was cloudy and the Naptha/DMT layer is crystal clear Smile Time to freeze.

[Original Post]

I'm doing my first extraction on 40g of Acacia Confusia root bark and I was able to follow the guide fine until the last step before freezing...

This is the tek for reference if needed

Anyway my main question:
I just pulled 3 pulls of 100 ml Naptha hopefully containing DMT. I wanted to do a water wash as the guide recommended before freezing, and it said to add Baking Soda to water making it at least pH 8.5. The baking soda is supposed to clean any lye although I was very careful during the pulls.

Note - Before combining, the Naptha/DMT was very clear and the H20/Baking Soda was cloudy white.

I added an equal amount of the basified water to the naptha/DMT solution and stirred for about 5 mins. Now it's been sitting there for at least 20 mins, and I have a cloudy white top layer and a crystal clear bottom layer. If I understand correctly, Naptha floats on water so did all the baking soda get into the Naptha somehow?

It seems like now I'm left with

Naptha/DMT/Baking Soda

H20/(Impurities?)

Thanks in advance for any help. I'm at a loss on how to proceed so I'm just letting it sit for now.

EDIT - I've searched the forums, and it's saying to use Sodium Carbonate and not Sodium Bicarbonate (Baking Soda). The tek I followed pretty much has that in reverse.

"also, for this first step [wash], use sodium bicarbonate as this will eliminate the residual sodium hydroxide, transforming it into sodium carbonate"
When life gives you goo, make changa!

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!
