Howdy,

SWIM crystals and wanted to recrystallize them. So SWIM heated my heptane in a water bath, with the water at ~175 degrees F, and took the heptane out. When SWIM put the DMT inside the vessel with the heptane, tiny bubbles streamed out of the DMT crsytals as it dropped and dissolved in the jar. Was 175 F too hot of a temperature for the heptane that my DMT vaporized or sublimed? Thanks!

Have you put it in the freezer to see if you get a precipitate? Unless the heptane was at boiling temperature you should not completely lose your spice

Not yet, but SWIMs sure it'll be fine. Yeah, SWIM searched the internets and Endlessness was saying that the boiling point of DMT is at least 100 C, according to those who have done the research. But thanks for you're input!

The last time I looked up the boiling point of freebase spice it was about 140 C. But this doesn't mean that some of it didn't vaporize, water heated to below its boiling point evaporates much faster than when its at room temp so the higher the temp the more you will lose. The rate at which this happens is dependent on the mole fraction of DMT: Solvent as only those molecules at the surface are able to escape the solution. Bottom line, you should be alright. Although you did heat it rather excessively. You want to keep the temp below 140 F to ensure that you don't bring the other less soluble material into your product. Lower temp re-X's yield much cleaner spice IME.

Hey what up ChemisTryptaman, what do you suggest if using Naphtha for re-x ? Cybs tek suggest to place it in a heat bath of boiling water and leaving it there for a few minutes.
