Hi ive been trying out rons cactus tek recently and have been running into problems, wondered if anybody here have had similar issues.

ive followed the tek exactly. all ingredients used are good. i was wondering if i just have bad quality cactus as my yields have been very low. on last extraction around 0.5 from 100 grams.

and another problem im having is when i do 3 pulls on 100 grams of cactus it eats about 100mls of limonene which seems to happen with most people.. but if i try to do any more limonene pulls on the same cactus mixture the next day it seems to absorb pretty much all the limonene i put in approx 500mls on the last attempt the texture changed aswell seemed to go very snotty and i cant seem to find a way of getting the 500 mls out even with a french press.. has anybody else had this problem?

am i overmixing the limonene into the cactus too much? should i just mix a little and leave it sit?

finding this a lot harder to get the hang of than i thought i would!

Last 100 gram run yielded 100mg Sad

ingredients as follows:
i contacted the vendor of the cactus chips and he tells me they are dried outer flesh of peruvian torch
im using hydrate lime - calcium hydroxide
d-limonene is a mix of R and S phases
5% acetic acid distilled vinegar for salting

being evap'd in a food dehydrator at 155F

method

mixing lime and poswdered bark well adding the 300 mls of water leaving to sit for an hour before adding 300ml d-limonene, stirring well. then occasional stirring over the next 3 hours. limonene is removed filtered into seperatory funnel and 25ml of distilled vinegar added rolled for 5 minutes and repeated 3 times. fresh limonene was than added to the cactus mixture and the process repeated. 3 Limonene soaks in total and 4 vinegar washes on each one.

i even tried several strong shakes on spent limonene to see if i was not salting effectively and nothing came out. the only conclusions i can draw are the alkaloids just arent making it out into the limonene, or there not in there in the first place and the cactus is no good. im going to order from a different supplier and see if results are better. as i know im not messing the process up in any way as far as i can tell.
