now swim has a brownish (i guess its salt and not freebase harmala) sparkling gunk (swim didnt base it).
the qustion is, can it be smoked (its made for change) or he need do base it with sodium carbonate/lye (to make it freebase) ???

You'll want to freebase it first for sure. Smoking salts is generally a bad idea because they can form byproducts that you don't want to inhale.

You can check the Tao of Rue or the Easy Caapi Extraction Guide in the wiki for more info on how to clean it up a little before and after basing it.

gennerally, swim needs just a litle harmala for his change, is it not worth taking the risk of mixing the harmala salts in the leaf mix? is this proses of basing the salts is necesary? swims not going to smoke the harmala by itself at this point,,

I personally wouldn't risk it. The extra salts can also make the changa somewhat flame retardant so it won't burn nice and evenly like it's supposed to.

It would be best to base them first.

ok i have based salt harmalas with lye, siphoned all the water, added new water, siphoned, repeted that 5 times (to clean all the lye and stuff),
is the final product that i have now is FREEBASE HARMALAS (and its smokeble?) ???

btw, i based it with lye only cuz its much harder to find sodium carbonat here...

yep, when you base the salt solution with lye the harmala's are converted to freebase and precipertate from the liquid.

I like to keep washing it untill the PH is back down to around 8ish and then its good to go.

okIe dokie! does harmala frebase disolves in 96% alcohol (canot find methanol/ethnol here)?
