So im working on a tek for an extract of Acacia Confusa. It's gonna be a pretty basic A/B but im having problems locating a good basifier. I've heard that Calcium Carbonate is an acceptable alternative. Does anybody have any experience with it? What kind of difference can I expect between this and a sodium hydroxide?

I wonder where you heard that...

calcium carbonate is an very weak base and also extremely insoluble in water. It's a total no-no as a sodium hydroxide alternative.

agreed.

save the calcium carbonate for heartburn, or writing on the blackboard.
