Alright, so I have done 4-5 pulls on a STB tek with 800ml water/100g Bark/100g NaOH and Naphtha as my solvent. I have received ~1g/100g bark and I am trying to shoot for a greater amount.

My question is, If I wanted to use a tek like this: https://www.dmt-nexus.me...spx?g=posts&t=36239

would I be able to add salt+vinegar to my already "used" mimosa/NaOH/Water Mixture and then do a pull with clean naphtha to extract even further, or was that something I would have needed to do from the beginning of the process? Thank you so much for any input and I will look forward to any and all answers!

If you add vinegar to your basic solution the DMT will be in salt form and will be insoluble in naphtha. After this you will need to re-basify the solution but I can't see why you would want to do that in your situation.

It has been posited that adding excess salt to the basic solution will help DMT to be more readily dissolved in naptha, I have only tried this a couple of times and saw no real difference from my normal extractions, but I didn't do side-by-side tests.

Maybe you could add salt to your basic solution to see if this will help you grab a bit more from it. Give it a go, not much to lose except time.

I have tried both with and without salt and discovered that the yield is indeed more, if only a little. The main benefit as I see it is that it reduces the formation of emulsion between the solvent and base layers.

I'm in no way qualified to say whether adding salt at the point you are at would increase yield, though it could well be worth a try. If you do could you please post your findings? Thanks.

I wish I had done side by side tests, not sure whether there were in the original posts outlining this on the forum.

If you add salt at the stage you are at the moment...you may release a little more product..
Do not add the vinegar or it will 'salt out' as stated above.

Adding salt to a depleted mix only gives a very small increase. Best to do it at the beginning...then the first 2 pulls are super saturated...

Thank you for all of the helpful replies! No vinegar it is!

Also should I stick with the ratios that are provided in cyb's tek @ 30g Salt/50g MHRB or would adding more than that have any greater effect?

I have about 5 jars worth of "used" basics mimosa water in a large container currently just sitting and I was hoping I could get a greater amount of product from them. Thanks!
