I have always had this problem since it became impossible to buy powdered bark. I have used a food processor and blender both time broke down slightly but was still root park pieces and fibers rather than powder and damaged both the blender and processor. This is after having frozen and thawed a few times as I have previously read helps.

Anyone overcome the same problem? is my blender just not powerful enough?

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

After the freeze..smash with hammer...and a 'Glass' blender for 3-5 mins pulsing and whizzing and shaking usually does it for me...fibres left over is normal...just throw them in the mix..Very happy

Thanks very much.

The hammer idea is great just might piss off the neighbors following the smashing with the blender

Thumbs up

You're best off putting the bark in some kind of sack to catch the debris, or else you'll have MHRB all over the place. I also found sheers were good for breaking it down into smaller chunks.

What has crossed my mind recently (haven't tried it yet) is boiling the bark for an hour or two before freezing the bark in the tea, reaheating and blending. The combination of heat, water and freezing should help to break it up before using a blender.

Maybe even a sander with one of those saw dust collectors would be a good way of powdering it also? Hmmmm....
