so swim used advanced nutrients ph up after considerable research, it seemed some nexans felt it was safe and advisable to use as a lye alternative, and boy just a little bit of this stuff seems to really increase the ph quickly. anyways swim has successfully completed 3 extractions previously, but he was in another region where lye/naptha was readily available, not so much here, so its bestine and ph up for swim.
ph up applied to distilled water, ph raised to about 12/13 with just a couple ml's in about 1 liter water. as MHRB was poured in a gray layer appeared and seperated from the normal dark looking MHRB layer. here's a pic, did swim over/under do something, or just flat out use the wrong stuff. No solvent poured in yet.

any ideas?
