A fairy asked me...

Ordered my first good batch of Mimosa and gonna do a "DMT for the Masses" Tek again.

I am a real lazy bastard and just wanna make the whole batch in one go. Don't have enough glass jars and was thinking of using my porcelain wash-basin to do one massive mix.
Plan: Get measured out amount of water into washbasin. Mix in lye. Then add mimosa powder. Leave for a couple of hours while stirring occasionally. Pour measured amount of naptha onto it. Then stir well making sure the two surfaces of the naptha and bark/lye/water mix run across each other. Then siphon off naptha.

Would this work. Can't see any reason why it wont but just wanna be sure.

So if anyone could give their ten cents it would be greatly appreciated by my fairy friend.

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

Location: Jungle
if its too wide, its gonna be real hard to separate the layers because the naphtha layer will be too thin.

And if it becomes unplugged... you'll lose everything. And your sink will be possibly stained forever. Whay Endlessness said is a really important consideration. It can be difficult to get naptha out of st b even in a sensible container.
For stb I use gallon hpde2 one gallon jugs. In my area, windshield washing fluid comes in them.
This is a good shape and they're pretty solid. The container needs a good screw on lid. Lye is dangerous.

Here's a pic to give you an idea:

Of course, you'll have to clean the container out well first.

Have you looked into the q21q21 tek 2 ? It's very easy, quick and safe. How much bark are you planning to extract from? You really don't need much dmt around at one time.

An A/B is much more effective for extracting large quantities of bark.

Told my fairy friend and he replied by saying...

Use DMT for the masses tek because it is easy. And have done it numerous times with good results, apart from once in a new country where i coudln't get the correct naptha.

If the Naptha extraction is the only issue the i don't see a problem. Of course the naptha will be spread out over a larger than normal area and be harder to siphon off. But my wash basin is rectangular and i can very easily get a deep tin foil baking tray, fill it with enough naptha and float it in the basin. I will use naptha just in case some spills, over into the basin...meaning i will be just add in a bit of naptha to the naptha that is already on top of the lye/bark mix.

If i put enough naptha in the tray so that it sinks to just below the level of the naptha in the basin, then there is a smaller surface area, meaning it will be much easier to extract. Can you guys follow this? LOL i actually use this same technique when lifting naptha off mixtures in glass jars, but i just use a clean metal can filled up 1/3 as a float. I can't see a problem with just scaling this method up?

I am using a metal plug in the basin and will even weigh it down with a big stainless steel paperweight to be sure i dont "lose everything if the plug comes out".

I thought you guys were gonna give me more pressing and insurmountable issues than you did, so i am gonna take what you have posted as good news.

Will use the wash basin in my granny flat which has been vacant for years and is gonna be changed in the autumn anyway, so staining is not an issue.
