Hi, I'm rather new to all this, and i was wondering if it would be possible to substitute sodium hydroxide with sodium silicate in a stb extraction. I've never seen this discussed before, but sodium silicate, from what I understand, has a fairly high pH, but I don't know enough about chemistry to really have any clue as to whether or not it would work. I'm extracting from about 112 grams of mhrb. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
