I read the tek thoroughly and felt that I understood it correctly. Unfortunately I haven't reached any results and am stuck and confused. Here is the information.

Materials:
-MHRB Powdered From Sonoran Song
-5% White Vinegar
-Toluene
-Lime(Calcium Hydroxide) From a nearby plant shop. Pure lime, no additions.

-Stainless steel pot.
-Various Class Jars.
-Electric Stove.
-Spoon.
-Funnel.

What I Did:
1. Pour ~115g of MHRB into steel pot. Mix in vinegar until all powder is soaked and wet, but not soupy. Liquid oatmeal consistency.
2. Simmer on low heat to just under boiling for 15-20 min.
3. Add an amount of CaOH2 marginally less than original MHRB. 3/4 ratio about. Mix in thoroughly. The mix became a flat grey at this point.
4. Add tiny splashes of warm tap water to mix to get correct consistency. I aimed for a clumby oatmeal/ cookie dough consistency.
5. Let grey mix sit for 1.5hours.
6. Pour Toluene all over my kitchen.
7. Pour Toluene into the pot with the grey sludge this time. Mix periodically over 30 min..
8. Let sit for 2 hours.
9. Pour off Toulene into glass container. Add 1/8thcup of vinegar. Stir/Shake for two mins.
10.[First mistake?]Seperate vinegar from Toluene. Forget to wash Toluene with water and return it to grey sludge.
11. Be impatient and try and simmer/heat evap vinegar. Nothing is there. I have no idea what I am doing.
12. Reread tek. See I forgot to wash with water.
13. Let Toluene sit on sludge for 1 hour. Stirring periodically.
14. Pour off. Add vinegar. Agitate. Separate. Wash Toluene with water this time. Separate.
15. Return Toluene to sludge.
16. Be impatient and try and simmer down vinegar water solution again. Going to where.
17. Give up and go to bed.

Where I am now:
- Grey sludge in a pot sitting in Toluene from last night.
- Small quantity of vinegar water solution in a glass container.
- Absolutely no idea what I did or didn't do.

- I have another ~115g of MHRB and an abundance of chemicals. I'd like to salvage the above mess, but If not I'd just like to not waste the second half too.

I'm so lost with this process right now it's completely disorienting. Can anyone set me straight and save me?

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

Hello thatmentat

The only thing I do different to you is to use limonene as my solvent and it works perfectly every time.

Not really sure what tell you, I know how frustrating it can be for teks to fail, I can't get Q21's crystal tek to work for love nor money, its a nightmare.

Maybe try different lime and solvent, as then you can begin to eliminate certain aspects of the process.

Good luck.

it's all in your mind, but what's your mind???

Do you have access to any other, more specific NP solvents, such as hexane or heptane?

If so, I would try to pull with those and then perform a freeze-precipitation with the pulled solvent. Unless you want DMT acetate as a product instead of freebase, I find Q21Q21 tek #2 simpler and efficient.

I'm agitating the overnight toluene and its picking up more color this time. Maybe I didn't shake enough?

I could possibly buy some, but I am specifically trying to get those jungle alkaloids. Naptha does seems a lot simpler now though.

I poured the entire sludge into a filter and now have a very nice murky substance. I think this may have turned around.

Good. Keep us posted.

Never tried toulene...d-limo is very pleasant to work with.

Last time using q21 tek 1, I evaped the jimjam goo, and mixed it up with equal parts pickling lime (rather than washing soda as I've seen others suggest). Dissolved that in ethanol, filtered and evaped--was left with fluffy brown crystals. Very simple, easy and I prefer it to smoking goo. I mention this now only because I've never seen reference to crystally jimjam before.

I appreciate your perspective.
