I'm certainly not wasting my time with KK242. It's a very cool cactus regardless and one I'll enjoy have around for years....and don't worry it will certainly be bio assay'ed.

As for the tea being last, I'm guessing you don't make tea the same way I do.
I cut into stars. Then I let them sit on top of the fridge (in a container) for 1-2 day's to let the ends just barely harden over.
Then I freeze thaw a few times. 2-4
At this point I pour out the potent juice and save.
Then I fill with a good bit of water and gently simmer for on hour.
Then I let it sit out over night. Decant and start again. Don't disturb the cactus cuts much at all.
The more water you use in the extraction phases the better the extraction. I'll fill a 5 gallon pot up and then gently simmer for 2 hours and turn it off. It retains heat for hours and the extraction continues while the particules slowly begin to settle. Then the next morning I'll decant very carefully before tossing the cactus in the freezer until I get home from work and restart a pot of simmering water to sit over night.
This method results in absolutely no stomach discomfort what-so-ever. My peruvians actually had a rather sweet flavor to them as well. Short of doing a full extraction I'm not even going to bother trying another method unless this one fails me...but admittedly I do not have much experience with cacti....
Edit. Actually the ethanol resin is something I'm actually wanting to try as well.
Peace
