Hey everyone. SWIM is having a problem with an extraction. So, this person has 3 jars containing the RB Powder/Lye mix. 1 other jar for collecting naptha to put in freezer. the first couple of tries, they just tried evaporating the naptha with no luck, so they decided to do a freeze precipatate. This worked pretty well. Got about 10 low-med doses of nice clean looking white powder. Naturally this person wanted to get right into round 2. After scraping the jar, cleaning it, and adding again the same amount of naptha, this process is no longer working. They tried 3 different times with naptha form 3 different jars, all being left in the freezer for 24hrs.

So the question is...How could it work once, but not yield anything now?

Have you tried evaporating some of the naphtha before putting it in the freezer? If your solvent isn't saturated enough the dmt won't precipitate.

That could be the problem. Only about 300ml of naphtha is being used so swim didn't think Evap was needed. The mixture has been sitting in the jars for about 2 weeks being mixed every few days so swim assumed it was already saturated enough.
