will this tek work with leaves containing dmt?
i am going to try it and i have leaves with 0.3% dmt near were i live so it would be great if i could some how do this with leaves instead of bark.
if i maybe dry them out and they powder them or something?

i tried this method with these leaves the other day and it didnt work. it might have been because of the leaves but i might have burnt it.
i did the whole thing and had ethanol with dmt hopefully in it, i put it under a light to give some heat and speed up the prossess. eventualy it was almost done but still some ethanol left and i was realy tired. so i set my alarm for 1 hour and went to sleep. but my alarm didnt work and when i woke up all the ethanol was gon and a thick brown sludge was in the dish, i scraped it up and now i have a ball of thick, dark redish brown smething. Sad
could this be burnt dmt? and if it is could i still use it?

You need to do an AB tek on leaves and emphasize on the defat step, check the nexus wiki for various ab teks and make sure you do enough defats! Should yield fine this way, a lot more pure than a crude ethanol extraction.

You probably have DMT-tannate or something, I am not sure if it's smokable, you could simply AB the crude extraction if you wanted to.

Not everyone agrees about this, STB on leaves does work, so does A/B.
Some feel A/B has an advantage, others do not.

Edited to add:
STB with lye works very well on leafy/green things, but perhaps this is because lye is so caustic it breaks down materials quite well. For example STB using lye on DMT containing grasses (like some Digitaria and Phalaris species) works well.

A/B can be done with less base than STB, because you can just make a solution that you make basic, instead of using the alkaline phase to break down organic material. That can make it more efficient than STB methods that use far more lye/lime.

defatting is the only step that is debatable or controversial. some feel it offers no advantage and report no issues without it.

what species of plant are you using? should work fine for leaves with the same extraction but extra defats may be neccesary. i've extracted dmt from leaves of an acacia before Smile

thanx, im useing an acacia leaf.

do you think this would work? i made a post but noone answered, if you dont know could you just say if you think its worth trying or not.

-powder leaves as finely as possible
-cook in a crock pot in vinigar and water 3 times
-combine all 3 and ditch all plant material
-mix washing soda with vinigar/water/dmt mixture
-heat and evaporate all liquid
-dissolve in ethanol
-evaporate ethanol

i need to figure out the amounts and times, but apart from that i cnt see why this wont work.
from the 4th dot point on it is pretty much the poor mans tek
