My dad is a relatively intelligent person. He has experienced a pretty crazy lifestyle that most people only see in movies. My dad was a young teenager in the 60's and has done more psychedelics than anyone I have yet to talk to. He told me of a story where he had taken 4 hits and thought he was dead. Walking around screaming at people to get them to respond so he could figure out how to become alive again. Anyways...

My dad came over to borrow my truck. I have talked to him about DMT over the last several months. He has been interested and I knew he would be willing to try some. I started telling him about my last journey and he said "where is it? I'd like to try some" I briefly went over some important things with him to make it the best experience possible. Loaded up 15mg, gave him his hit, turned off the lights and walked out closing the door.

I set my timer. I had told him once he was able to fully move around take his time until he felt 100% ready to get up and then come out. After 8 minutes he opened the door. I assume he laid there for a couple minutes.

He said he saw beads connected together and flowing around like on the "mystify" windows screen saver. Some were going through him kinda and he said at one point it's as if the beads had peaked at him lifting up the beanie I had him put on. Towards the end they beckoned him forward towards the door in my room but he said by that time he could feel himself coming down.

He also said the some beads were "shooing" at him as if to tell him to go away. He understood the strength of this stuff and would like to try slightly higher doses.

so did he borrow the truck?

I plan to facilitate a DMT journey with my father and brother in the near future and it's very cool to read about someone else's experience. This really helped quell certain concerns and encouraged me to take a very specific approach. I hope you report back when/if he decides to try a larger dose. Thanks again!

Yeah my father is the same, very experienced oldtimer (both with psychedelics and otherwise) and he had always loved mescaline and LSD, but DMT had scared him off the few times he'd done it... now here we are, me 20 and him 54 and I have re-introduced him to DMT, my heart-entheogen. I've given it to him perhaps 5 times and we have done two sessions together, a Pharma session and a DMT/oral harmala session (I think DMT is much nicer in all senses of the word with harmala or ayahuasca to "ground" the experience and turn it from a bungee-jump into a glide).
It very interesting to get an oldtimer's view of the spice... it puts it in perspective, and I can really see how LSD/Mescaline are somehow easier to work with than DMT. It takes a very special personality type and earnest, hardworking constitution to work with DMT... the ability to withstand suffering is the prerequisite to being a learned person.

I love my dad! Cherish the fact that you are lucky enough to be able to share this with your progenitor. It is a really special thing to be able to do... it would break my heart to not be able to share the feeling that brings tears to my eyes with my father. 'tis a shame that in my culture such a thing would be so horrifyingly taboo.

When my father was dying from cancer he literally wasted away. Would not eat food at all towards the end, I think he just decided to die at some point. I would really have liked him to try marijuana for his appetite, nausea, etc from chemo, but there is no way in the world he would have considered it.

Psychedelics would have just absolutely confounded his entire view of reality I am sure. and I seriously doubt he would have had a framework to deal withit at all.

It would be amazing to live in a modern culture (as opposed to tribal societies where such a thing sometimes exists) where these substances and practices were well integrated, where the elders helped initiate the youth into deeper ways of life, and where all of the troubles and promises of these substances could be directly addressed instead of pushed underground.

Instead we are mostly left to find the way alone, or nearly so.

Maybe someday...

The only older person to whom I have dosed have been my friends who are themselves fathers, and since they are well into their adulthood, the times they have launched have been pretty eye-opening to say the least. This boundary dissolving technology has quite the capability to leave people in awe.

This is really great. I think it is so important to have good communication between parents and kids about all kinds of stuff, and best of all, about drugs and tripping... just so that you each know that you have each other's back, can be there for support, and to be each other's trip sitter if need be. My sons and I are close like that, and I think it is one of the best things about being a parent now, to know that we can share deep experiences and not hide things from each other. I think it shows a strong and successful parent/child relationship. thanks for sharing!

I wish my dad would be into DMT. It doesn't help him make money though. Just cigarettes and coffee do that. A true capitalist.

Reading the title of this thread really made me laugh, this is great to have a dad you can talk to about this and share you thoughts with!
Talking about DMT with my dad or even making him trying is absolutely inconceivable for me. I mean he's still at the stage where he thinks drinking is fine but smoking pot is an issue, along with the usual lecture. Same with my mother.
I love them both with all my heart though, and they're definitely not psychotic about pot either.

I also believe my dad had a very bad LSD trip when he was younger, that probably put him off everything else but a good bottle for the rest of his life hahaha

Man, I'd love to be able to do this with my parents. I've been trying to get my mom to smoke a joint with me to no avail, though I have given her a contact high on one or two occasions...

Unfortunately me and my dad aren't very close. Don't get me wrong, we enjoy each other's company, but he lives out of town and we don't talk much. He's a pretty insightful fellow though, and I know he has been known to smoke weed every once in a while. I don't know his opinion on psychedelics though.

might inspire me to talk to my father ( been 6 months), he is kinda a dick, he doesnt know it, but I am #6 kid, and he divorced my mom when I was 4, so never knew him really like a father/son.

Hahaha awesome share man. I like how the beads almost acted as his rise, peak, and falling action like how it lead him to the door when he finished. My father just recently opened up to me about his old drug habits and uses. He is 57 and has been through some shit, he's a recovering alcoholic of 22 years now. I recently spoke to him about dmt and how ya the spirit molecule, I urged him to try it with me but he said "son I quit that when I quit drinking, I have a felon if I did that I'd unleash some demons" respecting my father very much I stopping trying to pressure him, but just today as I now read how your father tripped my dad texted me asking if I could explain more about this spice after referencing him to the Dmt: The Spirit Molecule movie documentary. I'm very excited to see where this progresses, I feel very strong connections after being awaken and feel as if this will be one of them. Thank you all for sharing.
