A friend of mine is used to extracting from mhrb and ran into some trouble with cactus. He does a stb for both. After salting three pulls of xylene with hcl he got around 200 mgs from a kilo of powdered cactus. The cactus is from a relible source many are familiar with yields around 1%. He has so much water in his buckets its ridiculous and i know its caught in the water. I was thinking, if he threw in enough mgso4 to dry all the water and re pulled he should be able to pick up all the frfeebase as the water is in the mgso4. Can you guys think of any reason this wont work? Has it been tried already? Also, an idea on 69 rons dry tek i found nothing about. Its hard getting the cactus perfectly hydrated. If its too dry it holds some NP. If too wet it holds freebase the NP wont pull. What if you first added the amount of NP you choose to use then add water gradually til all the NP comes out. Would that not work? I dont have cactus too experiment with but had some ideas i wanted to share.
