The vapor genie, specifically the glass vapor genie (GVG), will take you far, but if you get the GVG, you should also get the Arc torch tabletop lighter to go with it. I went through 3 lighters, all more expensive than the Arc, but the Arc is the only one that really did the trick because the GVG should be lit with a torch lighter, but the problem is that many torch lighters are not designed to be used upside down (which is how the GVG must be lit). The Arc can light on any angle and has never malfunctioned like my other expensive ones did so quickly.
Also, I wouldn't be too discouraged about "not leaving the room". Even in some of my most intense breakthroughs, even though I seem to be off in a far-off place, I can still feel my back against the couch, or my hands crossed in my lap or something of the sort. Some people get full out of body experiences rather readily and others (like myself) are generally privy to partial out of body experiences, but just keep on trying, and try to appreciate whatever the molecule throws your way because even if it's a rather mild experience, those kinds of journeys are brilliant in terms of getting you accustomed with the sensations and effects so that when you do have a full breakthrough, you won't inevitably get scared, resist and make things a whole lot of worse for yourself.

Atum appears on the smell of his censing, the Sunshine- god has risen in the sky, the Mansion of the pyramidion is in joy and all its inmates are assembled, a voice calls out within the shrine, shouting reverberates around the Netherworld." - Egyptian Book of the Dead
