Been lurking for a few weeks, and this site has proven to be a vast reservoir of knowledge and experience. Finally found a reason to post, though. My good friend has attempted his first extraction, but ran into some problems and sent me to ask for advice. Unfortunately, I never made my introductory post. So here is an introductory post

On a side note, my good friend says that he was almost pulled through a whirlpool in spacetime tonight. What am I supposed to make of that?
