Certainly this knowledge exists somewhere in the Nexus yet the location is not clear and searches yield too much to sift through thus advice is sought. Looking for P. viridis brew recipe information related mostly to cooking times but a general overview would be deeply appreciated.

Information:

P. viridis at 150 g cooking separately from vine with eventual (hopeful) yield for three doses.

How long and at what relative temperature should P. viridis be applied to heat?

Using distilled white vinegar for vine; should similar acidity be applied to P. viridis?

To what extent should leaves be broken apart (shredded, grinded)?

Thank you in advance for any advice/insight! As this is my first post to the nexus I apologize for any redundancy to topics.

Kindest Regards,
Rustt

This link was found at the bottom of the Viridis wiki page. It looks to have some good info.

500 grams fresh B. caapi vine per person.
85 grams fresh P. viridis leaves per person.
The ayahuasca vine is thoroughly crushed and placed between alternate layers of P. viridis leaves in a stainless-steel or earthenware pot, and covered with water.
The brew is gently boiled for 4 hours.
The liquid is poured off and collected.
Using the same plant matter, the pot is filled again with fresh water, and gently boiled for a further 4 hours.
The liquid is again poured off and collected.
The plant matter is now discarded.
Both quantities of liquid are combined and boiled gently for to concentrate the ayahuasca, until a managable amount is left for each dose.
While the evaporation and concentration is taking place, care should be taken to ensure the ayahuasca is not boiled too vigorously, as this will cause degradation of the active ingredients and will also cause caramelisation of the contained sugars, resulting in a very thick final brew.

Thanks for the reply! I found myself getting more and more apprehensive as the 'event' approached and started to second guess all the facts. Things are almost complete and I feel a lot better about the whole process with hopes that most of my questions have been answered. Only time will tell I suppose. T- 1hr30. Perfect timing for Pi day! Cheers

This is a fair 'recipe'-APART from the weight of caapi vine suggested per person.500g is about ten times the weight needed.50g is a much much more appropriate dose.Bear in mind also that the potency of psychotria viridis can be very variable so I would do a bit more research on this.85g could be a very powerful experience, potentially.
I am paranoid of my brain. It thinks all the time, even when I'm asleep. My thoughts assail me. Murderous lechers they are. Thought is the assassin of thought. Like a man stabbing himself with one hand while the other hand tries to stop the blade. Like an explosion that destroys the detonator. I am paranoid of my brain. It makes me unsettled and ill at ease. Makes me chase my tail, freezes my eyes and shuts me down. Watches me. Eats my head. It destroys me.

I decided to stick with a 1:1 at 150g. This will be reduced to 500 mL with a single dose at 100 mL, for both caapi and viridis. Does this sound reasonable? Both vine and plant are relatively fresh and came directly from source.

What would a typical reduction temperature be? I'm assuming a simmer around 94 'C.

I believe that this recipe is for fresh materials, not dried.

You really can't go wrong with the All About Aya <3 thread...

A black rippling film is precipitating over the reducing viridis (95 'C). Shall I continue to mix it in or pull it out?

I have 'All About Aya <3' on my favoritesSmile Ms. Minxx has provided some great information to the Nexus. Thanks for the heads up, though!
