Saturday morning at 2 am, I ingested an ayahuasca brew of 50g caapi and 15g mhrb. This was my first experience. At 7:30 pm, I proceeded to take what I thought was a very modest dose of the same ayahuasca blend, but had another powerful experience to my surprise. I am only 2 hours removed from the trip now. I suspect I will wait some time before my next experience, but this has been a remarkable 24 hours in which I have been profoundly affected. My first and second experiences were unique from one another, however each has been similar in that I have lost my grip on reality at some point and had to hang on to shreds of the real world, which is mentally very exhaustive. In my experience this past evening, I became stuck in a continuum of the same events repeating themselves, and I had to try to break free by either doing something differently or making connections between those events. Telling myself repeatedly that I was only tripping and not locked into some parallel reality from which I could not escape. The trip was terrifying at moments, however, in which I would perceive everything as a dream, even real-life events. The integration of the real world and hallucinations can be very difficult and overwhelming to navigate, and I was thankful to have a "sitter" this time whereas for my first trip I was completely isolated and had to call a friend at one point simply for a reality check. On my first trip, I felt as though I would die, so my second trip was much milder in that sense. What I would improve upon in the future is trying to counteract the nausea from drinking the mhrb brew, which has not yet made me vomit but carries over into the trip and hits me in waves.
