Swim was wondering if Stainless Steel could be used in STB extractions or if there is a chance to carry over heavy metals or is the Lye gonna mess it up? right now swim has glass jars but would love to use a big stainless steal bowl he has.

Yes stainless steel can be used. I used stainless steel and it was perfectly working also pots out of Silargan or Email should be fine.
Any spelling or grammar mistakes? Please help me to improve my English and write me a PM. Just write what is wrong and how the rule is.

stainless steel is fine, but a bowl for stb w/ lye might be a little precarious, and possibly messy, definitely stinky if using naptha. the problem is too large surface area on top. in a #2 HDPE jug, the jug can be capped, and it is easier to pull solvent from the top. and it can be capped for extended periods of time without unwanted evaporation or fumes.
