Ok, so I've been looking around at all the possible extraction methods and there seem to be so many that I'm not sure what would be a reliable, easy, and efficient method of extraction for a first timer.
I was looking at lazyman's stb tek. I was reading that heptane can be used in place of naptha (if I was reading correctly on this forum) and I have lye, bestine, 100g powdered mhrb, and some other basic supplies. 5L ceramic crockpot (for use with or without crockpot), glass baking pans, 1L glass measuring cup, glass turkey baster, and I was considering getting some glass mason jars for possible use in freeze precipitation but I'm not sure it's necessary or if I want to try it just yet. I could probably get some extra supplies if it was worth the extra money and effort.
Anyway, I wanted to start something small and then maybe try more advanced methods or larger amounts when I felt more confident (if probably only if I felt the end-product could be improved).
I really wanted to get a pure product my first time around. I've never tried DMT and I'm willing to perfect the process a little before I try anything.
I'll probably be making a machine for the purpose of smoking, as I don't have an excessive amount of money to invest in anything else. I'm not sure that would change anyone's suggestions on what technique I should be using.
I guess the only other question I wanted to ask was an ideal method of storing right after extraction, but I'll probably answer that myself in the next couple days, just reading more on the forum and the rest of the internet

Q21q21's tek is pretty straight. You can get lime at the grocery store inthe spice section and naphtha at lowes. For storage I just fold up a playing card and keep it on the card. I always highly recommend noman's stb tek, it is the only one I've used. Every time I yield at least 1% sometimes more. And the product is beautiful, pure white snow like crystals. I have never recrystalized anything I have extracted. It's by far the easiest tek I have come across... All you need is: -mhrb -di water -lye -vm+p (naphtha) -jars -safety gloves/goggles etc. -something to stir with (stainless or glass) -coffee filter -glass or stainless turkey baster. -cold freezer. But continue to read and learn about many different teks before you make up your mind Good luck! P.s. as far as storage I just use a little plastic container and keep it in a drawer in my room, nothing special, I would just keep it out of direct sunlight for any extended period of time. I think I've decided to go with noman's tek, just because I have almost everything I need already, and there was an attached, easy to follow recrystalization process if I want to try it. I hesitated at first to use it because the freezer I'd use is used by other people and I didn't want to super-freeze their food, but there isn't much in there lately and it's all super-freezable anyway.
I was looking around the STB forum and noticed that there were a few topics where bestine is readily suggested as a better purifier than naptha so I'll probably do that.
I read that bestine evaporates a lot quicker than naptha which makes the freezing process less necessary, but I'm probably going to freeze it anyway, as bestine is what was used in the recrystalization process, so I imagine that using bestine instead of naptha to pull would probably be like saving myself a step and almost going straight to recrystalization (although, more like, better crystalization from the start).
I was interested in looking into trying a full-spectrum extraction if everything goes well the first time, but I'll probably wait for my first DMT experience before I decide if I want to get used to that first...
Now I'm off to search the smoking topics for suggestions on brands of steel wool to use in making a machine...

I know you just posted that you decided on nomans tek, but I'd recommend the dmt handbook; it's pretty straight forward. our first extraction using that (and acacia not mimosa)produced good yields (about 4 gs from 500 g of bark). Good luck! “Recognize that the very molecules that make up your body, the atoms that construct the molecules, are traceable to the crucibles that were once the centers of high mass stars that exploded their chemically rich guts into the galaxy, enriching pristine gas clouds with the chemistry of life. So that we are all connected to each other biologically, to the earth chemically and to the rest of the universe atomically. That’s kinda cool! That makes me smile and I actually feel quite large at the end of that. It’s not that we are better than the universe, we are part of the universe. We are in the universe and the universe is in us.” ― Neil deGrasse Tyson
