This is my first pull of my first extraction (Marsofold). I started with 112g MHRB, and used about 125mL warm naphtha. I ended up pulling only about 60-70mL naphtha from the top of my jug. First of all, what could be the cause of this loss of volume? Could that much naphtha dissolve even when inside the well-sealed sealed jug, or is the rest just emulsified? <it is very possible, as I accidentally splashed the solution in my container around a bit.
Now, on to the main quesion: I've read a lot of posts in which others asked the same question I am, but I've not been able to make up my mind. I was hoping I could get some case-specific insight into which route would be best for me to go if I'm not concerned AT ALL about ending up with impure/yellowish crystals. Would either one result in higher yield of usable product? Is either one significantly more convenient? Should I just evaporate the ~65mL down to somewhere around 20mL and then freeze precipitate?
I don't want to go through any extra steps after initially retrieving the crystals (such as re-crystallization, etc). This is not out of laziness, but mainly due to the fact that my resources are very limited, and I have to do the whole process covertly.
I'd be very grateful for any help with any of these questions.
P.S. Sorry for having asked such dumb questions in the "Gen Ext Help" section so frequently of late - as I mentioned before, this is my first extraction and I want it to turn out well
