so, all in all Swim got from his 1st extraction about 0.2 g of spice from 49 g of mhrb. swim's extraction didnt went to well, with some clogging in the funnel and metirial not pwodered fine enough (problems now solved for the next try..).
few quastions after this one..
when using stb, is it recomended to do vinger soak, or freezing, or both? (things i saw in varius teks, wondering if cobination will increse yeild..)
i used tap water, but probably should have used disstild water true?
againg with stb, is it a good idea to filter the liquids after you basify (and soak for few hours) in order to work only with liquids and not with all that messy red mud? or will it cost yeild loss?

thnx and thnx again

in my opinion, (im new as well..) your complicating things a bit much.. im starting out with a simple stb extraction, no pre soak, no freezing, no messing about. just tap water, lye, soak for hours. them multiple naptha pulls, and see what happens.. if i think i can increase yeild with further work in the future i will try those. but many people are getting good yeilds while keeping it simple. esp for a first timer, just keep it simple.. i dont see why not..

i beleive the red mud u speak of is necessary beacause your product lies within it, if u filter it out u take dmt with it.

Separatory funnels can be a bit problematic when using an STB. You're going to want to use something like a turkey baster or a pipette to pull the solvent out, and then if there's any basified liquid, you can separate that out using the funnel.

With an STB, you definitely do *not* want to filter the liquids out, especially not only a few hours later. This goes again double if your bark isn't finely powdered. Using an STB, it takes at least a week to get all the easily accessible goodies out. You're depending on the strong base to break down the cell walls, in contrast to the heating and acid when doing an A/B.

Freezing the bark can help when you're powdering it, but I agree with thesilence877 not to complicate the tek until you have the basics down.

.

thanks
that what i did last time, worked fine, just wanderd about a more comfortble way..
Its not that im trying to complicate thing more than neccery, but because of what in my opinion is pretty low yeild (0.25 spice from 49g mhrb) i think its worth my while to do some "yeild incresing tricks" (thats beside improving my tek basics..).
by now SWIM got another 50g of MHRB all soakd up in viniger (finelly pwoderd, and post freeze..)
its been soakd two days ago, and after that SWIM was plannig on countinue with the same stb..
wish i could show you.. ill get a camera when ill grow up
