Hello,

Someone I know was wondering if this is safe or would create some harmful reaction, etc.

Any help welcome.

Thanks

If your extracting spice you can just precipitate in a freezer, and save the solvent. If you are recrystalizing or just absolutely must evap, use glass, I'm not sure about a reaction, seems like you would scrape up some of the nonstick coating with the spice. Use a glass baking dish, or even a glass jar, or a wine glass even.

Pyrex glass dish ideal , nonstick teflon surface not good
Because you will have to scrape the spice once the naptha
Evaporates you will end up with unwanted toxic crap in

Thanks. We did freeze precipitate and ended up getting a nice yield of (almost completely) white crystals (I think around .6%). Afterwards we were going to evap the remaining naphtha however we just decided to re-freeze precipitate. Again, thanks for the help.
