If the solution is pure NaOH + H20 then just add it to mimosa+water until it turns jet black and until your base mixture and solvent separate instantly.
So if they separate almost instantly then you've added enough.
You may need to add more after a couple pulls, as each pull reduces the pH slightly.

if its legit, it should be labeled "100% Lye", if it doesn't say exactly that... i would try to obtain the msds so you know for sure!

"Solution" could be anything. I wouldn't trust it unless it's dry white crystals and says "100% sodium hydroxide" or "100% lye".

You could order it online if the hardware stores in your area don't sell it.

The MSDS will tell you for sure, and if it's aqueous, it won't say 100% lye on it.

i have the same question. the only lye i can find locally thats granular says dissolve cold water only. im not sure if thats ok or not so i found some in liquid form too

heres from the MSDS

I've seen 29% NaOH solution to sell, is this concentration enough to use in a STB extraction ?
