hello nexus!

in a recent dream, a friend had a solution of roughly 500mg crude jimjam acetates from q21q21 limo salting in 20ml H20. a sodium carbonate solution was added dropwise, with immediate precipitation occuring, until no more precipitation was observed. solids were filtered and left to dry. whatever it was, it didn't dissolve in naphtha or water, from which my friend concluded that it's not dmt freebase, sodium carbonate, or sodium acetate (?). the remaining liquid was extracted 3x with a total of about 20ml naphtha, washed once with cold water, then left to freeze precipitate, and will probably yield about 150mg of a tannish solid, or so my friend hopes.

is it safe to assume that the freeze precipitated crystals will be dmt freebase? what was the first precipitate when the base was added? it was a brownish solid with about 30-50% of the initial acetate weight. my friend read mixed opinions on this style of freebasing (unfortunately after the dream occured), some saying it works, and some saying it doesn't.

thanks!

Yeah the sodium carbonate should convert the acetate (salt form) into freebase, at least this is my understanding.

it should have, but it didn't Smile freeze precip yielded nothing except a few tiny crystals. not even worth scraping up. lesson learned, if the tek for acetates differs from the tek for fumerates, my friend should use the right one, although he fails to see the reason why, but he isn't very savvy in chemistry.

but he is still curious what the initial precipitate was.
