My torch chips have arrived and I am going to try an extraction on half of the material. I think I'm going to go for Lucidlemonades sunflower oil tek. Reading a few threads it seems that the type of vinegar used can make the acetates quite sticky. I've evaporated some white wine vinegar I have and it has left a sticky residue,is this always the case with this tek?Has anyone found a vinegar that evaps fairly clean? I have some 99.9% MEK and IPA on the way too so cleaning it up is an option. I would like a cleaner product if possible, but is it worth it?

This is my first cactus extraction so any help would be appreciated. I'm in the UK so bear that in mind when mentioning brand names etc. Thanks.

If you can source pure carbonated water with no other ingredients [check the label] use this instead of vinegar to yield mescaline carbonate. I can attest to it working great in comparison to sticky acetate.

I'm in the UK and use the Sainsbury's white vinegar (the one pictured in the sunflower oil tek). My results are on this page and is after I cleaned it with 99.9% MEK.

The tek is really easy by the way and worked like a charm. I am bioessaying my product on NYE, so will let everyone know how well it turned out. Tastes really bitter, so am hoping it's good Smile

I remember you mentioning this in the chat actually.I've got an unopened bottle in the fridge, surely that's much easier than using vinegar, why doesn't everybody do it?

Here is the label from my bottle

People use vinegar because it's what's written in teks, and they don't want to "risk it." Well, I tried this numerous times a long time ago, posted about it, etc. Worked great and was easier to work with than acetates. Also it seemed to digest better, but this could have been psychosomatic.

The stuff you posted looks good to go. Even though it says just carbonate water, it also looks like they put minerals in there. The stuff I used contained no minerals. It's not really a problem, but I think it may add weight to the extracted mescaline, not sure.

house i wonder if a homebrewer with kegging equipment could make the appropriately pure carbonated water with distilled water and a co2 tank? and how many volumes of co2 would be best...

I'm sure it's doable if you know what you're doing.

Running 30ml through the solvent / oil 3x should be enough to "salt it out"

So pure carbonate pulls are effective from limonene?

Is the mixing vessel sealed when salting?

^If you're using a separatory funnel yeah, put the top on it. Release the cap to release any pressure build-up.

Just as an update,I ended up with 950mg of brown acetates,it was quite waxy but had a definite crystal form. I decided against cleaning it up. After consulting with Traveler and endlessness in the chat I took 500mg to start with, waited 3 hours with very little effects,I felt a slight tingle but nothing more,I ate the remaining 450mg but nothing happened!! It was a bit of a let down to be honest. I realise I had no idea of the purity but the extraction felt like it went well and the results seemed consistent with others posted here. Oh well,I'll try again soon, but I think I'll try resin or a tea next time.
