Hi again friendly and wise people,
SWIM is doing a 'Jorkest's D-Limonene Bufotenine Extraction' and is having some problem with the THP filtering passage. Jorkest states that "its quick so might as well do it a bunch", but it's not in SWIMs case. SWIM thinks that it's because his seeds were finely grind, so they are kind of blocking the acetone. SWIM already managed to do the first 200ml of acetone, but he noticed that because of the time involved half of the acetone evaporated. Is this going to create any problem? Should he reduce the number of "passages" or keep going with the sloooow filtering?
Please let me know if you need more details...
Many thanks,

Dante

I think if the final amount of solvent is the same, the intervening loss wouldn't really be an issue.

So, should SWIM calculate how much solvent was lost and then add some new one to compensate?

That seems like it would be the answer...

Maybe halving your material would let it go through faster?

Cool, SWIM will try to halve the material too.
Thanks AluminumFoilRobots!

What exactly did you mean by "reduce the number of passages"?

Sorry for my poor English. SWIM will pour the solvent on the material less times to reduce the time involved.

It all seems to go fine, The FASA step gave SWIM a nice light brown crumble.

No worried about english, I barely like this language I was born into as is (although it has a potential to be very poetic)!

I'm glad you got results!

Languages can either be cages or keys to access to higher levels...

Thank you my friend.
