Hello

So I got some shrooms from a friend-of-a-friend (really) and we were chatting about them and i asked what they were, and he just started complaining about how you can never know in the area we live but then just casually said that they might be fly agaric or cubensis. Now I don't think he realises what different things those are, and whilst this guy does generally know his shit with psychedelics he does sometimes subscribe to street-side bullshit.

So do you think that is just a common incorrect title for legit psilocybin and he is just calling them that, or do you think there is any chance i have been given those? I highly doubt , I just want to check what you all think though, first.

Thanks for any help guys

P.s I googled "dried fly agaric" and it all looks pretty distinctively coloured and marked, the stuff I have looks pretty standard is given in two gram bags, how does that sound in relation to agaric dosing?

no, if someone is calling cubes "fly agaric" they definatily do not know their stuff and I would not listen to what they have to say about psychedelics in this reguard. Only someone who does not know this stuff would make that sort of a mistake. They dont look alike at all and I have never heard cubes called by some fly agaric slang term.

If the person giving you mushrooms cant even tell you what they are, I would not ingest them.

Better off to just grow your own. That situation sounds sketchy if you ask me.
Long live the unwoke.

Lol a lot of people have given me the "wtf are you talking about" look when I asked what type of mushrooms they had but I've never heard anyone confusing fly agaric with cubes!

I'd be careful but chances are dudes probably just ignorant, at least that tends to be the case IME.

Cubensis aka Cubes" are far from amanita muscaria aka "fly agaric" and if the guy picked the mushroom and doesn't know the difference I'd be very wary of ingesting them of letting ANYONE ELSE ingesting them !
Mushroom poisonning is real, and can be really nasty-or downright deadly.
Could you post pictures also ?

But really, you have to be careful trusting someone who give you wildpicked mushrooms.
If you want some cubes you can grow them easy for very cheap, or buy fly agaric online if you don't know nothing about picking.

It's safest if you ask me.

Wow, what a dodgy situation. Sounds like they were picked in the woods too by someone who has no clue.
Don't eat them!

Magicman, I advise you not to ingest them! You could poison yourself, no joke with the mushies!

I've attached 2 pics, one is of amanita muscaria / fly agaric, the other is of amanita pantherina (dark brownish color, more potent than the muscaria).

Thanks for the help guys

Well my friend got them from a dealer (taboo I know, but I think it's necessary info here) and I think he is fairly reputable, the guy that actually said they are fly agaric didn't pick them. I don't think they are wild at all actually.

I can't get to view the pictures how do I do that?

Yes, found them in August, in one of the forests where found the muscarias. Unfortunately there were very few of them, and only that month. I'd say they are twice as potent as our muscarias.

It's nice and rare to find them.
So better keep them for special occasion !

I'll try post a picture a bit later on today, and I'll also try contact the source and ask what is up.

Can one tell the difference just by how they look ? please say yes . . .

also the stem on the ones I looked at bruised blue, not definitive I know, but a good sign right?

Maybe a bit late but...

Magicman, don't eat those mushrooms. It seems like the source is very sketchy. Sketchy is not good when it comes too mushrooms. Throw them away and go into the forest later this year and pich you own fly agaric, it is probably the easiest mushroom in the world to identify.

Cubes or amanita, whatta hell.
Everything I write as Tordyveln is made up. I lie all the time.
