My husband at age 61 enjoys gaming on his PC, his PS3 and his PSP. He tends to play 2 or more games a day on 2 or more systems. He's been a chronic pot smoker for close to 50 years. He can more than hold his end up on a conversation of just about any topic and has deep knowledge of all kinds of things from the classics of all cultures to weapons through the ages to all Dynasties of Ancient Egypt to most everything Hollywood produced prior to 1990 to . . . . the list goes on and on. He is sharp as a tack.

Nice to see someone is finally doing some research on this.

Now all I need to do is find an article that says that house work gives you alzheimers....

I can confirm the benefits of gaming, I have been a gamer since 1976 when Atari's Pong came out. As well I have worked in the industry but retired from it as it is, contrary to popular belief, a very stressful environment.

A couple of weeks ago I had a full medical check up and the doctor couldn't believe my reaction time (140 milliseconds, had to do it 5 times!) and he also was impressed by my hand-eye coordination. Not bad for a 40+ year old Smile
