Precip. tray shape importance? Options

I was just wondering if the shape of the freeze precipitation vessel matters all that much. For my first extraction, I used a jar. Not a mason jar, but a fat jar with a fat opening and a faulty seal. Now I use mini borosilicate containers with air seal snap lids. During my continual research on how to better my extraction technique, I've seen that many people use flat bottomed baking trays for freeze precipitation. My question is this: Does the shape of the precipitation vessel matter? I've had equal yields in jars versus flat trays. The only two reasons I can think of that a flat tray would be better are: #1- Way easier to scrape crystals, and #2- Maybe since the average distance of the dmt molecules is closer to the bottom of the tray, they migrate to and form there faster. The only reason I ask this is because I see so many people adamantly recommending flat borosilicate (pyrex) baking trays, when I myself have gotten equal yields from weird shaped jars. Has anyone noticed a difference in terms of yield or precipitation time?

That was very hard to read btw...

You should get an equal yield regardless of the shape of the tray. Shallow tray with straight edges is just much easier to collect from.

The size of your container may have an effect on the shapes of your crystals, if your recrystalizing. The only effect it would have on your yield is, how easy it will be to collect. A smaller container may cause the yeild to build up due to a smaller area, and may 'look' like more, but in the end, after you scrape it up itll all be the same.
