greetings all.

i was wondering if there was a difference between using food grade fumaric acid, sodium carbonate, calcium hydroxide and the same chems that are not labeled food grade. i have only used food grade before but i was curious as to whether or not the latter could be used all the same. my assumption is yes but i would like to be certain... also what is the difference between food grade and non food grade be... is it all a matter of purity???? or what?

does using a chem that is not food grade result in a drop in yield???
