Hi Smile
I've just recieved some Jurema bark from Mexico and am excited to start brewing, extracting, experiencing this wonderful thing. My only worry is that I forgot to specify to my vendor if I wanted whole or powdered MHRB - and got powdered (i guess it's easier to ship).

Will I have any problems making brews and doing extracts from this? Most TEKs and guides around the net always say to use shredded or whole root bark, and that the powdered stuff complicates things. Could anyone please share insight, personal opinions and experiences with powdered MHRB?

Well i havent made any quite yet( another week or so) but form all i have read it seems powdered is better. it is supposed to have less fibrous material in it so that means mors active alkaloids by weight. also it is broken down alot easier to release all its yummy goodness

That was also one thing that came to my mind. It would certainly help extraction to have a higher surface area.

What about filtering out the plant material when making Mimohuasca? Won't that be a problem?

Powder is great, be happy Smile

Filter by using a metal strainer and then an old t-shirt (and then if you want, decanting/filtering with finer filters like funnel and cotton plug)

Thank you for the answer Smile I've already started my first extract using 50g bark, 50g lye, 750ml distilled water, as per Nomans TEK. The simplicity of extraction is amazing!
