Hi Everyone!
I saw this in one of the other forums, but I wanted to both ask a question and post an experience.
First the question: has anyone else experienced odd animal behavior that accompanied their experience(s)?
As for the experience, in a nutshell I feel that my dog knows and actually participates in looking out for me. I know this sounds a little odd, but I definitely feel that he's tuned in to the whole experience. As soon as things start to kick in he runs to my side and presses himself close to me. Several times I have even felt a psychic connection: not like exchanging mental "words," but rather instantaneous empathy and understanding that goes both ways.
What's really interesting to me is that I read several other posts on the topic and several folks were positing that the reactions some have noticed from their dogs was a result of body language or somehow sensing a change in body chemistry. This would make sense to me except today my dog was outside. I'll spare you all the details -- I'm still integrating and am not totally sure what happened yet-- but it was a very heavy, somewhat scary experience. However, as soon as things began to calm down and I began to sense myself again, he started barking to be let in. I didn't have to get up because he opened the door with his paw and ran inside. He immediately took up a "guarding" stance and began to bark directly in the direction of where I sensed...something in the corner of the room. I soon began to feel a lot better and the "gloom" (dimness?) lifted from the room and everything seemed brighter. As the brightness returned he visibly relaxed and I got the distinct impression that he was "guiding" me back.
What really intrigues me about the whole experience is that he was outside behind a closed door and could not have sensed my body language or smelled anything changed about my body chemistry. But he knew. I have no doubt about that.
Anyhow, I thought the whole experience with my dog was fascinating. It seems to open up whole new realms of thinking about how reality is experienced by humans and animals and who knows what else.
Anyone else ever experience something like this?

haha i can vouch for this, my dog always reacts, either leaves my presence or sits close to me.
same has happened with cats.
one of my good buddies (call him x) has had the same things happen to him with his dog. theres one occasion that sticks out. it was like xs 2nd spice journey, he was sitting on a couch facing west or somthing (just to give you an image) and me and my other buddy( z) were smoking a changa joint behind his facing the same direction as x, so he was infront of us but pretty much out of sight (blocked by curtains, some of us like to have a very private space when theres other around)
so x smoked his spice and we begin smoking ours and his dog walks directly into our cloud of smoke and stands there for a couple of seconds then runs around, jumps on the couch and puts both his paws right now x's chest and stares him down for a long time.
x noticed how strange this was.

dogs are the best , i am very happy to be in company of my dog i have yet not smoked spice around him , however he has been a long term companion on some of my acid trips , infact some very bad acid trips years back when i was just starting psychadelics were made beautiful by just being in my dogs company , its as if he totally understands whats going on with me at these special times , i have communicated for hours sometimes on acid with my dog through some strange way of understanding each others thoughts without any need to even speak ,,, it can be a body language thing , years back i used to come home fucked on acid , booze and cannabis quite often , and when the party ends early i had to sometimes come home flying so high but my dog always helped me calm down and relax and i still immediately seek his company if i am having a bad time on longer acting psychadelics , it always helps me also i think i have never felt more real love than what i feel for my dog and it feels for me illusions !, there are no illusions there is only that which is the truth

Its crazy how most people look at animals as stupid and inferior but they probably know alot of crazy things about the world that we don't. When i was 3 years old i walked out of the gate in our backyard and wandered clear across town by myself and ended up walking around the railroad tracks where i could have been easily killed. The police found me later that night (like 12 hours later) by the tracks and my dad's dog was laying beside me when they found me. I don't know for sure but i'm guessing she found me right away and protected me the entire time.

Hi everyone! A few weeks back I took LSD (first time after a 15 year break) and the moment I started to come up, our Norwegian forest cat (see avatar) ran away to another room and had a dump in there! He usually would never do anything of that sort but it seemed like he was protesting against my state of mind, which was an unknown to him. He himself does like to be stoned as long as it comes from a vaporizer and not from a joint. When stoned he gets crazy about mango and will not stop eating as long as there's some available. Another funny/strange thing was, despite me having very strong visuals, throughout the trip he remained looking exactly the same as he always does. But that's probably got to do more with myself than with him.. Towards the end of the trip I started to become a bit anxious, as it sometimes can happen. He then came to me and laid on my chest like he usually does, which made all bad thoughts/feeling disappear quickly. Animals are for sure not stupid or inferior, quite the opposite really. We love our cat more than anything in the world and the love and trust we get in return, is simply a great feeling. "More than the past, I'm interested in the future, because that's where I intend to live."

My Cat loves the taste of Changa too! Even hours after the trip she's very fond and sniffles on my mouth and the Hand which was in contact with the pipe.

I've had quite a few powerful experiences with her now, she's really an amazing being. Last night, after smoking a bong of freebase and tea after a lengthy changa session, she was sitting next to me and I was stroking her back. My hand and arm took on fur and colouring and they began to merg together, it was impossible to tell them apart, my arm flowed directly into her body Joined at the soul with a pair of headphones

I absolutely love my dog. Sometimes, he likes to get stoned with me. But ANYTIME I am on any substance, he is never more than a couple feet away. Even with cannabis. I am one hundred percent sure he know that something is different, so he is always there to protect and comfort me. He has helped ride out some pretty rough experiences, and even turn them into awesome ones. I have always felt a connection to my pup, and psychedelics only strengthened this connection. He will be my best friend now and forever... on earth, in hyperspace, and blazed as bawls. He is always there to guide and comfort me, knowing when I need it most. <3 Let the plants guide you, for they teach lessons beyond what we humans can offer. Distorted is our perception of reality, because reality is much more distorted than we could ever perceive it to be.
