I have been meaning to extract dmt for a while now, the problem has been that I didnt have a place to do it at. My friend recently offered to let me use his basement. Its his parents house so I have some questions that the answers to are critical to me making it.

First i would like to say that the extraction method I chose was Lazyman's tech (found here). This method seamed perfect. It seems easy which is good cause I dont have much experience with chemistry.

These are my questions:

Since I will be using my friend's basement, I need to know, does the naphtha or NaOH smell a lot? do they have any fumes? Would it smell worse than a few ounces of weed?

Is there any place where i can find NaOH or mimosa hostilis root bark besides online? If not which online vendors do you recommend?

Im planing to smoke it using an electric vaporizer cause i have heard that if you burn the crystals you will loose a lot of it. What do you guys think?



Also I appreciate posting a video of this method if anyone has it or knows where to get it.

I don't have a lot of input on the extraction technique. But, I think you should really rethink doing it at a friend's house. Extraction is illegal, and you'd be putting your friend's parents at risk by performing it there. It might be in your best interest to wait until you're the sole person taking responsibility for the risks involved in an extraction. Sorry if I sound patronizing, but that's just how it goes.

The Nexus attitude is against using others homes/basements for extracting without their express permission and knowledge.Please reconsider this.

Naphtha smells quite alot when evaporated.

NaOH is available as a drain cleaner from many hardware stores, but its harder to obtain in some countries.

It depends on your location as to whether or not you can buy what you need over the counter or just online.

Electric vaporizers are less suited to using DMT than other devices. The VaporGenies are felt to be better.

Do reconsider your choice of location for extraction.I doubt your friends parents would want to be unwitting accomplices to the extraction of DMT.

I was hesitant about doing it there too but the guy has dried weed plants in his basement. I also have the option to go to my friend's apartment (he has a roommate though). He is basically my trip buddy and has been bugging me to do this extract sooner.

Would the smells be fine if i use it in a bathroom that has a vent?

Also i have a Vaporgenie! lol, but i have put small amounts of dmt (i purchased it at a VERY expensive price, not even enough for a hit) in my electric vaporizer and it all evaporated in a few minutes into vapour that i could see. I like the fact that there was no anxiety about if im doing it right or not. Just put, wait and inhale

Personally as long as hes okay with I'd bet it will be rather un-noticed.

MHRB+Lye smells about as much as chamomile tea (not like it though).
Naptha smells not too nice but if you just got had some bottles of butane sitting out then "I was filling the lighter and accidentally spilled some" would totally explain any smell-related questions.

I suppose if the naptha is sealed in a jug after pouring then sealed in the precipitation container there will be almost no smell there.
While separating (the most smelly part, the separating) then the smell would really only be an issue for 20-30 minutes at a time around the time of the separation and a bathroom fan would likely work fine. A window and a fan would work fine, naptha doesn't linger for days and smell like a meth-lab like xylene.

Sure I am giving someone advice on how to hide an extraction. Well hes doing it in a basement (containing ounces of weed) with permission and do you honestly thing that without this advice he wouldn't do it anyway?

It's a fair point, if the guy's set on doin it he's gonna do it anyway. might as well make sure he does it safely and minimize the risk for all concerned, but still, I don't agree with doing it in someone else's home when they are unaware.

Are you planning to evaporate your Naphtha or freeze precipitate it? Naphtha smells a bit but it's not too bad, if there's a load of weed down there that should cover it for the most part I'd say. If you're evaporating it, it will be more smelly (and expensive as you'll have to keep buying more solvent), but if you're able to freeze precipitate it then it should keep the smell down a bit and you can use the same solvent a few times before it needs replaced.

I'd deff recommend the vapor genie pipes, they're a worth Spicecraft

Do your friends parents know about this? It sounds VERY sketchy.
