I would love to share samples of these with others to see what they could do to clean them up.
I took 3 pulls from a bulk MHRB STB.
First mistake, I thought I could improve on a time tested tek. Heh, all, if you do this at home dont do things out of order. like this, I made up the base water pH13ish and poured in my nap directly on top. (My thinking here was that any alkaloids that get shocked and tossed out of high pH solution would become trapped in the naptha and I could have bigger yeild.) 'standard white boi thinking... bigger... bigger... bigger'
I added my MHRB, which now had to go thru the nap in order to reach the base water. What ended up happening was my naptha turned reddy-brownish, and I knew I messed up. I stirred it around half hour and kept the pull for the precip, why not...
I then warmed up more nap and took another pull... into the freezer it went.. steep time around 2 hours.
At this point I had other things to do so I added the nap put the lid on.. and 3 days later finally took that pull off.


The first pull ended up with spice and .. poo. It was rough. I gave it a try and it was to harsh to deal with.

The 2nd pull turned out all white, and I'm thinking sweet I musta hit a perfect pureity pull. Heh, well.. it was weird, the crysals only held on to eachother at the ends, like puffy snowflakes. What the hell, gave it a try. Really smooth.. nothing.. I dont know what it is, but its not TIKAL..

Lastly the beautiful yellow of TIKAL, was wanderful.


I experimented with the rest of the soup and retrieved another 5 pulls of good spice. It took me 2 months before I finished all my pulls. I learned many things with this one extraction.

I wanted to share this as a marker of pride. Foolish idea that still yeilded aplenty.

You should wait for all the solvent to evaporate before scraping the yield, your pics look like wet DMT.

While I am not disagreeing with, I was excited for the photo op.

Now normally I guess I take short cuts, after precip I take out of freezer shake the hell outta the lil snow globe to break it free. Then I let settle, pour off the majority of the nap. I find small mouth mason jars work great to catch the spice and pour off the nap. Then I use a silicone spatula to gather the wet spice, put it on a glass pan then tilt it so nap will run out of spice as it evaps off. As its evaporating I break it up so it dries thoroughly.
I am usually ok with my return at this point and dont mess with it further. Unless the spice gets old. Then I rewash with the naptha and store in freezer till I am ready for more.

I'd just pour off the excess naphtha and put it under a fan for couple hours.

yea let that evaporate out, and congrats on your success, no worries i am sure many of us here messed up the first time around.

i remember first starting, everything seemed like it was going to be complex, but after a few runs you get the hang of it. and sometimes depending on the tek you use you will get tired of stirring lol.
