Ok so I used the limtek method i found here down to the fumarate salt.

I then proceeded to use step 6 of the BLAB to convert to freebase.

My first attempt was quite dissapointing. I think I didn't saturate the water with enough sodium carbonate and I ended up only getting around 50 mg of tiny tiny crystals a few shades lighter than brown sugar after 3 days in the fridge.

Knowing I should have gotten around 250-300 mg of freebase with the amount of fumarate I dissolved (350ish mg), I saved the water I filtered and this time I prepared a lot more sodium carbonate and saturated the water really well, then used a plastic syringe to add it to the DMT fumarate water drop by drop so I could tell more easily when it stopped clouding up.

Then I popped it back in the fridge around mid morning. Late that night I went to check to see if any of those same tiny crystals were forming and I noticed that the water was starting to freeze so I moved it up to a higher shelf.

This morning I went back to check and there were still these monstrous shards that looked like ice at the bottom. It was really beautiful but I thought there was no way that could be DMT after seeing the first product I pulled out.

So I filtered it out and it didnt melt so it obviously wasnt ice. I have them drying out now so I can't get an accurate measurement yet but I can post some pictures for you to look at and tell me what you think.

I'm just basically shocked by the original size of the crystals, a lot were over an inch, and the pure color of them. For this being my first batch, I'm convinced this isn't DMT, but some big horrible accident like I crystallized the sodium carbonate or something (if that's even possible).

Anyway. Here are the pics.
(Sorry about the quality. My camera seems to have
died while I was in Iraq and my wife's battery
conveniently died before I could take a decent
picture. So it's the good ole iphone)

Looks like you got some tasty crystals there, good sir.
I think I'm blessed to have my endless curiosity pave the road to uncharted territories in ever changing, and unfolding reality.

Now that it's starting to really dry, I notice some of the shards have a white sodium carbonate crust that was left over from the water.

Any tips on getting rid of that or is it relatively harmless? Preferably without the use of strong smelling solvents if possible.

Wash with dilute sodium carb solution (just a small pinch of sodium carb on, say, 50 or 100ml water). If its dmt, it wont dissolve. If its sodium carbonate, it will dissolve.

IME one loses around 50% of fumarate yields when doing the conversion, not 25% as theoretically one should. Also it depends if you did FASI or FASW, with FASW loses are higher, with FASI its closer to the 25%.

Also, personally I preffer doing with bigger quantities, like 1g, since its easier to handle.. Very small amounts of dmt are harder to scrape/filter/etc, and one can lose a significant part of it to containers, etc.

good luck
