Hello fellow nexus enthusiasts,

My freeze precip is giving me troubles. The first few times i had no problems, well i had a few but they worked out. the jar i use i cannot get my hand in to scrap ( im still looking for a suitable jar ) but luckily the crystals never stuck to the sides and i could catch them in the coffee filter-set that out over night to dry- visit hyperspace in the morning :-D

but now the crystals are caked to the side and it looks like a wonderful white fluffy yield. its impossible for me to scrape it so i started reading here on nexus on what to do but im still a little confused.

Can i filter the napatha leaving all the crystals still stuck onto the jar, take a small bit of warm napatha (10ml) and dissolve the crystals and transfer to my pyrex dish to evap?

or should i refreeze the small amount dmt saturated solution in the pyrex dish like a second freezer precip, let the crystals freeze / stick to the bottom of the pyrex dish, filter off the napatha and scrape the crystals then?

thank you for your help Nexus

The best thing to do is stop using a jar!

Use a flat glass baking dish or something similar. Cover it with aluminum foil, and you won’t get any odors in your freezer. After crystals have formed, pour off as much solvent as you can, then allow the remainder to drain by keeping the dish upright (on its side). Once dry, crystals can be easily scraped off of the flat surfaces with a razor blade or something similar.

I've never really had a problem using mason jars. If it gets caked onto the jar you can do that. I used to swirl it around good and re-precip it. Get what I can and just reuse the jar for my next extraction. You don't have to get every single last crystal (unless you're out of materials).

Maybe it's just me, but I don't like the idea of scraping the jar for crystals...Seems like I might scrape off some glass along with it, it sticks really well.

tl dr; Yes, warm or even regular temperature naphtha will get the crystals off the jar. Swirl it around pretty good, it takes a good shaking to get those crystals off.

Or after one has poured off the naphtha, put the dish under a fan on low/medium setting. Never fails

i sometimes use a jar if all my baking dishes are currently in use.

don't bother scraping.

add acetone, its a ftw solvent, very volatile, and freebase DMT is very soluble.

just a few ml will do, swirl till the crystals dissolve, and pour out into a plate, acetone will evaporate within minutes, you can scrape up the crystals or add herbs to make enhanced leaf/changa

thank you once again nexus Wink

sometimes its the easiest and most simple ideas that are the hardest to grasp. dont use a jar, very good advice. i will look into acetone as well.

another quick question,

i have a jar from a left over mini A/B extraction / cleaning. can i reuse this? put more "dirty napatha+spice mix" shake and siphon off clean napatha+spice?

I would suggest a pyrex microwavalbe casserol dish. Very very ideal, you can get up to 2ltr volume.

These are the babies you want, I hope you can find them on your continent.

I always start off crystallization in the fridge for a few hours, this encourages fewer seed crystals to take hold, drawing the molecules and forming larger, more manageable shards as opposed to fluff.
