I want to do A/B and I always read, that the pot should be stainless. Hmm actually I could use glassware as well. But I dont want to spend too much extra money, because I already did spend around 300$ for Lab Equipment, chemicals and mimosa hostilis.
I got 2 beakers (2000ml boro 3,3mm), but I'm not shure if I can use them. I heard for cooking u use more the round erlenmeyer glassware. Not that it gets cracks or s.th when cooking. I think round glassware has the advantage that its more resilient to tension and that the evenly distributed, which is better to avoid superheating.
Another question if I would use glassware, I propably would use also an waterbath for cooking. Does this work, if the waterbath has an boiling point of 100 deg. and the mixture as well, or does the waterbath evaporate first? I mean I could use oil, but I read that this is dangerous and oldschcool, because if s.th spills or the glass breaks the waterbath goes crazy

Maybe a scouring sponge.

Actually i meant more these kinds of dirt:

The upper one is the ground, Ok in this case it touches just the heating plate but I think it's burned fats (
EDIT: I alread got rid of the dark brown stuff in the center with naphtha and a razorblade. but the light brown stuff near the rims is still there.). Actualy I just postet it because of the number and because I would love to get it nice and shinny
And the lower picture shows I think chalk inside the pot. But this dirts maybe relevant because they get in touch with the solutions. Maybe some citrus acid could be used. But what I mean, maybe the agreesiv iyes or acids solve that stuff and I dont want to get any extra crap into my DMT. The pot tells stainless (is that correct english?), but I want to get shure, that it's not damaged afterwards, because it's my everyday cooking pot and also I dont want some crazy alloy parts into my DMT if that's possible...
Wikiepdia tells me 18/10 is how much Nickel or Chrome is used in the alloy, and that this alloy is not resistent against salts and chlorine. Ok propably it is resistent to alstwater otherwise cooking would be impossible but maybe it's not resistent if you use crazy acid and then get salts when basifiying...
