ok...

i've been on this site for a little while. got a number of stb extractions under my belt. only got what i called a good yield (<1%) once. i know it was probably my own fault and not the teks...but i just felt like i wasn't extracting as well as i could. so i decided to try an A/B tek wow...

i always avoided them (A/B teks) because i thought they would be too difficult or too elaborate. boy was i wrong! (first time that's ever happened ).

did marsofold's tek. it was pretty easy. all my globes are in the freezer but boy oh boy is the yield better! this is more like it. i guess this is more along the lines of what everyone else gets.

the only thing about marsofold's tek that i changed (more like i added) was that after i drain the boils off into a container to settle, i also pressed that bark goo through a metal filter screen to get almost all of the liquid out. the bark was still slightly damp after i pressed it but it was rocky and almost cake like, meaning i got most of the water out. i'll have to weight and see the final yield but i can already tell that this is the way to go from now on.

i guess stb teks are good for a newbie because they are less work...but IME...stb is less reward. another thing i liked about marsofold's tex compared to the stb teks i've used...WAY less lye. like 10% of the amount of a stb tek.

i'll never do another stb tek again.

yeah STB teks really arent too great compared to A/B I find. STB is easier I guess..but not really concidering it leaves alot behind so in the end you do more work to get the rest out.

Don't say never... When you are done with the mhrb from the AB run don't throw it out. Put it all into a big glass jug and do a big STB run on it with the proper proportion of lye for such a run. Pour your used AB liquid into it as well just for the hell of it. Only don't pull now, let it ferment, like 6 months to a year, then pull. Leave no man behind
