G'day Soma_Seeker,

I'm a fellow Queenslander, and I read your Opening the Way entry and was captivated. Not only was the subject matter fascinating, but you write beautifully. I sincerely look forward to reading your further adventures!

Hi again everyone,

I've only made several posts on the nexus, however I have spent quite a lot of time reading the wiki and searching the forums over the past month.

I would really like the opportunity to be given full-membership so that I can further interact and contribute with this community.

Are there any further requirements/recommendations to complete in order to be accepted?....

Eagerly awaiting Smile

peace...

Smile g'day, & welcome

thanks for joining,

i would be interested to hear about how you would contrast ayahuasca vs vaped dmt (if u have tried this method).
i feel the 'shamanic' aspect of smoked dmt/plant extracts have been underemphasised, perhaps due to lack of ethnobotanic info.
the Yopo, Hekula & Vilca snuffs (etc.), in their fast mode of action (45-60min) could be compared to the modern vapedmt experience.

look forward to the knowledge/thoughts you have to share, especially from an autr. in S.america perspective.
(good-on-ya-mate!)

Like the previous poster, SWIM is interested to hear about the contrasting experiences of ayahuasca and vaped DMT. SWIM has harmaline and is considered attempting a pharmahuasca experience for the first time

Hi guys,

Unfortunately I can't comment on the vaped DMT experience, so I can't draw a comparison between this and the aya experience.

I feel that people often consider the smoked DMT experience to be of lesser shamanic value due to its intensity and brevity (bare in mind of course that I can't speak from personal experience). Ayahuasceros are very adapt at manouevering through the ayahuasca headspace, so as to maximize the potential for personal growth and divination. This requires a level of lucidity and memory recall that is perhaps too difficult to achieve when one experiences a brief and intense psychedelic experience, such as that achieved when smoking DMT.

I'm not sure if I've answered your query in any way, but I'd be happy to further discuss it if you think my experiences may be of any use to you Smile

nen888, I have had breakthroughs via vaping space and drinking aya and aya-analogues...
the word "shamanic" is open to your interpretation, so I can't opinionate on that with intersubjective accuracy w/o knowing your meaning. However, these two methods are quite different experiences. (Perhaps like freebasing, say, crack would be different from other forms of ingesting that particular ego-amping devil.)
Vaping spice can certainly be a revelatory wisdom tool for some. But, at breakthrough doses, it's kind of like a dream or a hyperspace movie, and is SO MUCH - SO FAST, and is then over. Whereas with the Aya, you fade into and out of the peak... And with the peak being mellower by comparison, and lengthier, you stand a better chance of processing insights that are more subjectively relevant to you and your life process... It is easier to grasp how it's about you and yours.

Have not tried the snuff forms, tho if your description of 45-60 min is accurate, it would be much more similar to drinking aya than it to FB spice... Which makes sense, as it's a less direct route and is less high tech. 60 minutes is a good long time - this isn't shroomies or L. I'll have to hunt around here for guidance re: the snuffs you speak of... Feel free to post links or recommend threads to help me on the way. Perhaps, we can both report back after snuff experimentation?

soma-seeker, being is Latin America, is in such close proximity to the tradition, that there is little need to bother with the FB, unless there is a strong interest. Easy access to conventional forms is such a rich opportunity to be explored in and of itself, I'd reckon.

I drink tea.

I have a strong interest in most aspects of psychedelic culture Smile However, I am relatively experienced with traditional Amazonian shamanic practices, and agree on the great potential for personal growth associated with this approach.

..i'll start a Yopo type snuffs thread soon,

i have not tried the S. american indigenous snuffs, though i have had their ayahuasca brews. I have done a little research into this form of ingestion(nasal). I have met
2 'westerners' who have tried Yopo & Vilca, whereas many many i know know the tea medicene.

the main general difference (other than effects/plants) with the snuffs (& what i mean by more 'shamanic'Pleased is that they are of more restricted/specialist usage.
ayahuasca is given to the wide community (incl.the elderly,or pregnant women in some cases), whereas the snuffs are used more by practcing shamans for divination.
also the snuffs generally do not involve MAOIs (which could be argued change as well as slow the tryptamine experience), so are a closer ethnobotanic model for
modern dmt usage.

look forward to hearing more of your ayahuasca & spiritual learnings in the future....
