My friend was going to attempt his first q21q21 tek 2. The only problem is, he read something about using plastic mixing components (bowls and mixer). The only plastic utensil he was going to use is a measuring cup(breifly) and maybe a turkey baster ($1 each). Will his solvent (naptha) absorb some of the plastic in the ammount of time it takes to measure 100 ml? (or suck up the remaining percentage with the baster). The measuring cup says do not microwave, but he cant find anything on what it is made out of.

If it's plastic and you are not 100% sure it's HDPE (#2 in the recycling symbol), don't use it. You can get a glass baster and measuring cup for cheap and it's worth the comfort of knowing your end-product won't have plastic in it. Some people have issues with basters, personally they've never been any trouble for me. If you're concerned about a baster's efficacy, you can always get a glass syringe for more $$$. Honestly, you should be able to get a glass measuring cup and baster for <$10, easy.

Yes, indeed... STAY AWAY from the plastic turkey baster. Not good times. And you're not likely to find a plastic turkey baster of the right type of plastic.

WEll if it is HDPE2 then it will be fine, only saying this because my local dollar store stocks HDPE2 basters and it even stood up to xylene. I tested it by soaking it overnight.

The 2 teks use non-toxic lime and vinegar and Tek 1: d-Limonene or Xylene or Tek 2: Naptha to produce very quick high yields with the greatest of ease.

I am almost never on this site anymore so I will likely not answer PMs

I have to say though, I have some #5 plastic containers that believe it or not does not at all disagree with naphtha.

I've had MHRB mush with naphtha in it sitting in these containers for 2 weeks straight, it has never deteriorated the plastic, and it has never gotten into my product. So, I don't know. So there must be other varieties of plastic that are naphtha safe.
