hello, i plan on doing lex's dmt extraction, A/B
i have a question about the sodium hydroxide im using and if its safe it use it

i have brought "pascoes drain cleaner crystals" because bunnings didnt have any pure sodium hydroxide.
on the msds (MSDS) it lists aluminium at 5%, if i were to take out all the little bits of aluminium would this be ok to use? it also contain "inorganic salts" is this ok?

does anyone have any infomation on were i could source some pure sodium hydroxide?

thank you

No, do not use it. It's your health and you should be very careful.

Sodium hydroxide is easy to find. I don't understand why people are so impatient to find the correct chemicals.

If you can not source pure sodium hydroxide, which is easily found in hardware stores as drain cleaner it says 100% on the bottle, you can go to a hydroponic / gardening store and get Advanced Nutrients pH up. I have checked the MSDS on this and its 100% pure KOH which is potassium hydroxide in solution.

When it comes to chemistry it is absolutely imperative that you use pure chemicals and ingredients. This is your health at stake here. Just be patient. It is worth it !

Thank you. It's for your own safety. No one here wants to see you hurt by using improper chems (esp drain cleaner!).

Very happy

Hey mate head back to bunnings and it should be in the section that has acetone and kerosene. They stock the brand "mechanix" or "diggers". Even coles or woolies has it in with the cleaning chemicals. The first time I looked at bunnings and asked them for it I couldn't find it. You just have to have a good look in the right section.

I've found that, in my area, tractor supply stores and far superior to hardware stores in terms of availability, purity, and price of all reagents.

Just in case if you need to stock up more at a later date; too much info never hurt anyone Smile
