So Ive been reading here and there of a possible acetone extraction that follows as such:
1) Defat MHRB with acetone, strain and discard acetone.

2) Mix one 1 gram of sodium carbonate per gram of MHRB, add water untill the consistency resembles a paste.

3) Leave the base do its thing for a couple of hours (2-3) with the option of heating the mixture to speed it up. (If heating more water should be added periodically to maintain consistency.

4) Let the paste dry completly (a drying agent can be utilized to speed up the process)

5) Add 1 ml of acetone per gram of MHRB to the dryed out paste. Let it sit for an hour and then siphone/pipette it off.

6) Repeate step 5 twice more and let all three pulls evapourate leaving the DMT behind.

My questions are: Does this process work? How will the yields compare to STB or A/B?
Will the acetone pull DMT and other alkaloids (jungle spice) and is this good/bad?

P.S No i dont have access to fumaric acid or naptha so dont point me in those directions. Peace and thanks for any and all help/advise

I am not sure about most of that, as I'm newer than new. But I do know that Zippo fluid is a suitable substitute for
Naptha - Its what I am going to have to use for lack of actual naptha in my area. A good friend of mine has used it many times with success.

It works, but yeild is low. You'll need to do the whole process two or three times to get everything out, making sure you powder the material really good after drying it out. The simple carbonate conversion works best on semi-pure crystals, not so well on plant matter. Also, for plant matter, lime would work better than the sodium carbonate.

This is the method I've been wondering about for some time. Due to no one really giving definitive answers to my questions, I decided not to try it.

But if I did, I would use calcium hydroxide instead of sodium carbonate, to ensure the basification step. And at the end, I would use the FASA method to convert to fumarate, then base it again to help clean it up.

Other teks are more well established and practiced. That said, I'd still like to try a dry-tek with acetone someday.
