When i add the naptha to mixingjar , it just stays on top and it doesn't mix with the solution,i thought it should be like that .. whats wrong?

No, when you add naphtha, it stays on top. That's alright. Now you swirl it around for a little while (not too forcefully, so it doesn't take too long to separate back out into a clear layer on top), then remove the naphtha layer and stick it in the freezer (or do whatever you plan to do to collect the spice).

Entropymancer speaks the truth. I have found that the "end-over-end" technique works great. Just use both hands to turn the jar/jug upside down to right side up, but not too rough as it CAN cause an emulsion - where the naptha/solvent doesn't seperate from the basified mixture. Once you have done the end-over-end technique (enough for you to not see any naptha floating on top after end-over-end-ing) you let the mix sit until the naptha rises to the top. Make note of how much naptha you used so you know when it is fully seperated. Siphon up all that floating naptha, evaporate half of the naptha (this is only what I do), then put the remaining unevapped naptha into the freezer.

Entropymancer - I'm not explaining it again because your post was unclear or anything, just elaborating, I would have appreciated it my first extraction, heh. ALSO, if you aren;t evaporating the freshly siphoned naptha then you are losing a good amount of the dmt that crashes out in the freezer. I didnt half-evap for like the first 5 extractions SWIM did and I was diluted into thinking 100g pulls should yield about .3-.4g. Half-evapping has doubled my yield as opposed to skipping the evaporation. Just a suggestion in case you are making the same mistake I did so many times.

I just wanted to add one more thing to, two otherwise good posts. Naptha will hold ~ 1g/100ml (this was from another thread, I sadly don't have the link)

When SWIM first started out with this, he didn't have much of a life, so a few jars could sit next to him at home as he worked. He would mix (as directed above) but continue to do this all day. Each jar was swirled every 30 mins or so for about 2 hours. Labor intensive I know, but the pulls were great and on the 3rd+ pull, yield was DRASTICALLY reduced (I am assuming because of the re-swirling allowing more solvent absorption because total yield matched to the range it ought to be.)

tl;dr - Try using more naptha and more swirling and if you can, a touch of heat (SWIM uses a small, desktop coffeecup warmer) and you can reduce the amount of time spent pulling and along with half-evapping you are still over-saturating the solution and crystallization has never been a problem.

Do us a favor... read a little bit more. Check the links in my signature.
