Ok so afoaf has root bark powder/ napatha/ and saftey equiptment..(for the lazy man tek)

But he needs to know..

What material does the measuring cup have to be made off.. And does it HAVE to be 2000 ml or could it be 500ml?

Also is there any red devil lye alternative?

Just make sure the potato masher is pure tungsten and you'll be fine.
I kid. The lazy man tek sucks though.
To answer your questions, Red Devil lye is no longer available, but you need pure lye for an STB.
Containers should be non reactive, such as glass, ceramic, or stainless steel.
The cup would need to be at least 2000ml if you're going to put 2L of water in it and should also be non reactive if you intend to dissolve the lye in it. You could however put four 500ml cups of water into your non reactive bowl, dissolve the lye, and add the bark.
I strongly suggest that you use a different tek.

Alright can you link me a one you would reccomend, i know of a couple, though lazy mans seems the most desirable because I would rather not use a heating element such as a stove/crockpot.

I guess I could use a crockpot, if it's the best.

I think it's safe to assume Noman endorses Noman's tek. It's tried and true, and honestly about as good as an STB tek gets (if you leave out the ammonia wash).

Personally, I recommend not following a tek. Modeling your procedure after a particular tek is no problem, but I think that blindly following a tek as though it's a recipe in a cookbook without understanding what you're trying to accomplish is concerning. Then again I feel the same way about cooking too Smile

Alright thanks dude Very happy, that tek did look very good anyways.

Yes, lye is what you're looking for. Anything that says 100% lye will do just fine.

You're not likely to die from a botched extraction, but you could end up disfigured if you mishandle the lye (resulting in chemical burns) or mishandle the naphtha (resulting in burns of the more usual fire-induced variety). You could also end up with damage to your property if you spill the lye-bark soup or break the extraction vessel, or light your house up with a solvent fire (if the fumes are in the vicinity of a potential spark source). Unhealthy solvent intoxication could result from breathing in naphtha fumes over a long period of time in an enclosed area. If the naphtha contains non-volatile additives (or if it picks some up from a vessel that isn't suitable for storing the solvent), these could end up in your final product resulting in an unknown degree of possible long-term health consequences. Anticipating all the ways things might go wrong is a good way to make sure things go smoothly.

If you don't mind my asking, what are you looking for from DMT?

Honestly, I want a gnarly spiritual experience. All that jazz sorta freaks me out though, could you possibly link a saftey guide? I already have chemical gloves bought, a mask, and some work goggles.
