First pic u can c some yellow due to plant oils

After a hot solvent bath then freeze i collect 99% white

Question is tho, does this mean no lye res is left over? Cause it would be darker right?

Lye is white so you can't tell whether there is some left by just looking at it, however NaOH is insoluble in naphta so it's unlikely you had any at all in your initial pull, even less so after a re-x.

No one here can really tell you there's a page about it somewhere. Also my lye beads look white...

There are many risky ways to test like bio-assay or sticking some on your tongue, but I could recommend getting something to measure ph throw it in water and see if the water raises to a high PH due to residual lye traces. If it has no lye it should not dissolve easily in a small amount of water and can be filtered or even recaptured into some naptha....

To conclude though all I think is mmmmmmm when I look at that pic, but honestly it could be anything (maybe even snow and sugar in a bowl?) Sooooooo I just leave you with my advice so you can make your best educated guess Very happy

With the much higher boiling point of lye, and the trace amounts that *might* be left behind, what would really be the outcomes with that?

How might there be some left? It's insoluble in naphtha and if you suck up lye sludge it will be obvious in your final product. I'm pretty sure if you tried to smoke lye it wouldn't combust.

As Snozzle said there is really no reason for lye to be there at all as long as you didn't remove any of the basic bath along with the naptha.

For the sake of argument though if you had lye mixed in you could remove it with a h2o wash.

Product looks good, enjoy!
