There are many risky ways to test like bio-assay or sticking some on your tongue, but I could recommend getting something to measure ph throw it in water and see if the water raises to a high PH due to residual lye traces. If it has no lye it should not dissolve easily in a small amount of water and can be filtered or even recaptured into some naptha....
To conclude though all I think is mmmmmmm when I look at that pic, but honestly it could be anything (maybe even snow and sugar in a bowl?) Sooooooo I just leave you with my advice so you can make your best educated guess
