swim was doing an a/b extraction of about 780grams of mhrb. about ten quarts of filtered red muriatic/h20 solution was reduced to about one quart. when swim added sodium hydroxide the solution turned into curds almost solid, swim added more sodium hydroxide and the solution turned into grayish goop (the kind swim usually sees right before the solution turns blackish brown. a little more sodium hydroxide was added, but the reaction was no longer audible or creating heat. swim is positive that its basic, however swim said the solution doesnt look at black as it usually does...
