This sounds wrong...the established literature puts the % harmala alks in rue to range from about 2%-4%...at 15% there's no way, imo, those were clean harmalas. Perhaps they were harmalas with vasicine and vasicinone mixed in...but even that sounds to be an absurdly high yield that contradicts all of the published scientific information I've read on this.

yeah, that can't be right. That would mean that eating 3g of rue would inject 450 mg of harmalas in to a person, and eating 3g of rue definitely does not have that effect.

well... apparently i spoke to soon!
so as i said earlier, 114g ceilo was boiled approx 9hrs (3 x 3hours) water only- then reduced. the brew was very potent.

the "spent" bark was put in the freezer, and later thawed and boiled in vinegar water 50/50 for two hours.

from here, basically followed gibran2 tek substituting naoh for KOH.

upon first adding base, only a very fine sediment fell out, but after re-acidifying and basing and rinsing, i was left with over 170mg of just off white harmala.

so my initial 9 hours of boiling the bark was not sufficient to extract all the alks. thanks for the heads up on this, and i now fully agree with the OP__ "Don´t throw away your caapi after cooking!" Smile
